UNFORTUNATELY, both my D220Ti's are blown, and are awaiting replacement diaphragms. I found out the hard way how fragile the voice coil leads are... :sigh: Once I get them repaired and back in place, I can start breaking in the crossover caps. These Daytons sound like dreck at first, but smooth out nicely. Can't wait!

I'm puzzled by your photos of the "charge coupled" x-overs.

It seems the connection point for the battery charge should be at the mid point of the doubled capacitor.

Am I missing something?

After about a week of listening to all kinds of music (rock,jazz,techno,classic rock,blues,classical,etc.)on the mini S8's all I can say is " I gotta have more E-wave baby!"
What's been so fun is I've taken out some old CD's I hadn't listened to in years . One that really came to life was Rolling Stones ,Sister Morphine,if any of you have it you should give it a spin....
 
I followed the "official" schematic, or at least I think I did. It shows the + battery terminal going through separate 1.5Mohm resistors, then tying into where the two (four, in my case) capacitors come together. In my case, I used a series-parallel arrangement of four original-size caps. So each "pair" of caps represents one cap on the schematic.

At the midpoint of the two double-sized caps there should be a junction of the two caps and a lead from the resistor. I think that's what I've implemented.

If you see a problem with my work, please tell me!

The adapter needed to be modified to fit flush with DE250:
- Enlarge the original small hole to exactly 1"
- Enlarge 3 mounting bolt holes
- The thread is not perfectly matched. Fill 1mm throat gap with bluetack.

What woofer did you guys use on this or did i miss it somewhere?

I'd be very interested to hear your subjective opinions on bass 'to die for' as i've known you for sometime to be very particular about your bass when considering all of your OB/Dipole projects to date. I'm riveted to the thought of a dipole WG design.......say dual 12's in a .5 config topped by that 2512/250 combo.

The confusion was mine. I was thrown by the group of 4 large caps & since I can't see the bottom leads (closest to the board) I was just scratching :scratch2: my chin over it...that's all. Your response removes my concern.

Saves you from having to remove the woofer to change the battery. (Just be sure to seal the back of it.) They also have a double tray in case you decide to C-C the woofer someday AND Bi-Amp. that one is BX0026.
I need to order about 4 more singles myself.

While I'm at it, here's a few pics of my latest projects, The 8X8 and LE-10A is especially nice, while the K-12 was just an overnight idea that worked out really well. I'll have to do the second one tomorrow, then order the parts for the XO, I'm borrowing the XO and the D2500Ti-ND from the top-box for now. the D220Ti would NOT fit in front of the cone without another 2 inches of space. The ND clears by about an inch all around. Finally, the Karlson cab sounds like it should! The E-Wave on top never did jell with the woofer down so low, now it's very cohesive!

Dang, I just saw that one of my grille pegs has come out of the grille frame! Didn't even see that till I was looking at the 4th pic...

Hi, surprisingly they sound very well. The dipoles may have advantages in modal region, but in pressure region (20-30hz) no question the monopoles are winners.

I wrote at length comparing waveguide and dipole designs sometimes ago.
