    Sorry I think I made a mistake. A Polar cap means means it works only in one orientation, having a positive and negative lead. Please message the person that posted that information and get clarification on what he used.

The 10uf/400v polar cap is a 10uf capacitance capacitor with a voltage limit of 400vdc, being 'non polar means it only works installed in one orientation, likely a electrolytic capacitor.     Although a modern build, my DAC uses TDA1540D, don't get any more vintage, and I love the sound, personally I have no need for higher sample or bit rates. It's running non over sampling.
