Picked up these two today. Matching cabinets and grilles, but unfortunately mismatched speakers. I already have a set of AR-2ax's, but I'd kind of like a set of 2a's... Seems like this mismatched set is pretty common to find?
With that said, I'll gladly trade anyone the 2ax for an orphaned 2a.
Good Morning All,
After a failed experiment with a set of Klipsch Fortes, I am still in search of a good sounding speaker (vintage or not) that has excellent bass extension, present but not harsh mids, and crisp highs; soundstaging is also important. My goal is to not have to use a sub for...
AR 3 Mids and Tweeters at 24 ohms,?
Had them checked by a repair shop and this is what he stated was wrong and why it took so much power to have any sound out of the pair.
Found these at a garage sale, not out much just wanting to know if finding replacement mids and tweeters are the only way...
Hello,
I have an AR XB turntable with an AT 10 cartridge, I like how it sounds but I'm starting to wonder if I should go for something like the Shure M97xe. The rest of the system is a Marantz 2325 (if you couldn't tell) paired with Ohm F cabinets with an early trade in can, not the original...
Edit: See Post #20 for good news :D
So a pair of these followed me home the other day for no apparent reason ... I thought they looked cool and different and thought it'd be cool if they surprised me. I knew the mids were wrong (they look like car door drivers) but was promised they "bumped."...
I've been lurking out there for a few months. I've been lamenting the loss of a Marantz quad and turntable I got at a garage sale when I was in grad school twenty years ago. I put it somewhere "safe" when I moved. It was so safe I never found it again. Over the past few months I have decided...
Hi everybody
after roughly 25 years of music, three relocations and two quite active kids, I had these speakers serviced.
The technician replaced the foam suspensions and serviced the tweeter domes which had been dented.
I bought these speakers back in 1991 and they have been connected to my...
hi everyone.....once again i saw much praise here for this particular speakers and decided to bring a pair into the fold so to speak. They are one owners in really good condition and are at the speaker shop now having some re-foaming done to the mids. It may be a little while till i can get them...
I will admit I am fairly week in the TT department but there are two things that I am curious about that will be easy to clear up.....
1....Why do all my vintage receivers have two phono inputs? Is this for dj purposes or is there some advantage to having two plugged in at home.
2...I sourced...
