Yes, the Centurion was a boat, but it was an exceptional car, bullet proof and reliable, just oil changes, brakes and tires.
So comfortable, you could drive it all day 5 or 6 hundred miles and still feel fresh when you arrived. I would still have it
If I had a two car garage instead of a single.

No picture at the moment, but my 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE currently has 484,492 miles on it. Driven regularly. Looks like crap, but runs amazing. The local shop I have my oil changes on at says they can't believe it runs so good. A couple of the guys have said when I am ready to let it go, they want it.

4 cylinder or V6? I have an '06 Sonata V6 with 135k that I bought new that never needed anything except control arms & window regulators and plan on keeping it for many years to come.

94 Chev K1500 ext cab 4wd. 200-something, most of the miles pulling a 16ft enclosed trailer. For quite a while now typ less than 1k miles per year. Just don't have that much truck stuff to do.

Experimental extended drains on synthetic oil 20-25k. Engine and driveline run like a champ. Can't say as much for the body. Got the cancer pretty bad. That said, I've seen lots of newer Chevs with as much or more.

Rain, sun, cold, hot, sitting long periods of not driving/starting. Always starts. Always.

I have one too.
Pushing to 250k.
Trailer through Montana a lot.
Body still real good.
Did need a tranny at 190K.
Alternator issues now and then. Got a lifetime warranty on the first replacement from NAPA and they’ve had to give me a few replacements since then but outside that, she’s all Chevy. Never let me down.

Me and Chevy trucks go back to the day I got a license in 75.

We are of similar age, and a 1971 Buick Centurion (4 door) was my 2nd car (a '63 LeSabre was my first)... What a boat that Centurion was - you rarely see them mentioned anywhere...

I forgot about those Centurions and I worked at the factory they were built at

With newer vehicles 100,000 miles is to be expected. In the bad old days it was a big deal, now not so much.

I bought my 1999 BMW 323i 15 years ago with 115k miles on it, and it still runs great at 160k. (Yeah, I don’t drive much since I work from home)

The 1977 monte carlo I bought new in 1977, my first car, made it to 204,000 miles before the timing chain slipped a tooth when my teenage son was driving...that ended the motor.
A 1992 ford aerostar mini van made it to 265,000 miles before numerous exhaust manifold leaks , no more teenage sons at home, and a new girlfriend, persuaded me to donate it. It was running strong, no oil usage. I had bought it used with 62,000 miles .
Also, a 1987 monte carlo SS , purchased used, made it over 100,000....I can't remember exactly, but I think 121,000.

currently, my 2012 camry hybrid is at 95,000 +...

My '90 Trooper 4 cylinder 5 speed has 241,000. It's my mobile wheelbarrow for dump runs and lumber yard runs a few miles a week, so it may well last forever.

2001 Buick LeSabre that's my daily has 270k on it. I bought another one to replace it with 98k about a year and a half ago, thinking it can't last much longer. It's still hanging in there.

All our cars are high mileage! No engines or transmissions have been opened. The Avalon has been the best, though. The only things that have ever failed on it are a power door lock solenoid and a windshield washer hose. It still gets 30-31 mpg on the highway loaded with 4 people and a full trunk, but the mpg surprise has to be the BMW. At 80mph, with the top down, I'll get a bit over 40mpg.

2004 Forester (2.5 H4) - 125,000
1998 Chevy Express 3500 (5.7 V8) - 175,000 or so. I sold it last year, and it reminded me why I stopped buying American cars; it was one of the most unreliable vehicles I've owned.​

Work model; they took a cigarette lighter and an ashtray and built a truck around it.And boy did it earn it's keep. I loved that little guy

I live in a salty area and the under rusted. if I'd had that coated might still have it.
ran it for 180k and gave to neighbor kid who tore it apart on lumber roads in the woods. didn't bother me; if I were a pickup I'd rather go out in a blaze of fun and glory than sit and rust into junk.

I never got a front-end alignment the 10-15 years I owned it. had to buy a couple extra tires but I probly came out ahead.
I make sure to get oil changes on all my vehicles. (sometimes I do myself)

V-6. A few things don’t work well now. CD player, passenger power seat, washer for the wipers, but still runs great. When at idle, you can’t hear the car. Looks like crap, but a decent car.

Not bad at all! My black Sonata clear coat has been eaten up by the Arizona sun and my washers haven't worked for many years either. The passenger side valve cover is still leaking oil slightly (a common problem for this engine) but the 3.3 and the 5 spd are smooth and gets 26 mpg. Such a great motor!

A lot of people mention how they love they're old high mileage cars. I do appreciate their reliability and the service I've gotten from them. But my Ford Fiesta with 196000 miles on it I wanted it to die. After 196000 miles I was more than done.
