2sc3902t? I've heard these being mentioned as replacements recently, any opinions?
What unit are you replacing the 2sc1451's with.

Would like to know about your test results and what you used to test them on.C3902/A1507's look promising.
I've used the C3902T in a few places, and it seems to do the job well. The A1507T has been back ordered for months. Mouser carries the 'S'-gain variant, which is probably fine for most applications.
I have (had?) been recommending the C3902 and A1507 to replace the C1451/52 and A809/810. I don't think the 700C uses the A809/810 anywhere, so I'm not sure where you were thinking of using the A1507.
The absolute best part for the job was some Panasonic transistors that were discontinued a few years ago (2SA0914 and 2SC1953). I should have bought hundreds of them before they disappeared. Damn... Anyway, the best replacement now for the C1451/52 and A809/810 are the Sanyo 2SA1209 and 2SC2911. Since On-Semi bought Sanyo Semi, these will probably go away shortly as well. In the meantime B&D has them.
No reason to fool with 'em when there are other parts that will work fine. The 'S' suffix bugs me...the Matsushita data sheet does not list an 'S' variant, only a 'Q' and an 'R'.You're right Glenn, there are no A809/910 in the 700C, what I meant was a replacement for the C1451's.
By the way, ebay has 2SC1953 at a premium price from a seller in China. Do you think these are reliable? (not fake):
