In general, yes. Specifically, I can't justify that price even if they're new in box. The prices I see most often are $150 to $200 if they are original and in great cosmetic shape. They are, indeed, great speakers. I have owned them and would, again, love a pair in the stable. Look for another, more reasonably priced, pair. This post is worth exactly what it cost to read it.

Yes, new foam, new caps and new crossover(s). But truthfully, I really don't know what the crossover is all about? I imagine it's the protection circuitry? If you know I'm all ears
He'll discount if I buy the Receiver and speakers. He also has Vector Research VXR-9000 for $175.00, Vector Research VR-5000 for $75 and a Marantz 4250 for $425.00 and an Adcom GFA-555 with a PS Audio Preamp and Power Supply, (audiophile stuff) 200 watts per channel, complete set for 500 and 2 pairs of Quatre 8000 MK 2 3-way speakers in oak cabinets 175 pair. Looking forward to listening to these set up's even if I have to walk away.

I assume they are the Bullnose Advents? If you are not familiar with which models, refer to the speaker models thread in the stickies under the speaker forum.
Recent eBay sales are mostly below $400 with one exceptional pair with boxes having gone for $600. For a local sale, they should be 25-40% less than ebay.

Echo same a previous post price around here, if Original large Advent or New large Advents. $350 seems high. A refurbished crossover would normally be just caps unless a resister failed. Refurbished drivers would be refoaming the woofer. Were the cabinets refinished veneer?

That's next on my list.
I own both OLA & NLA’s I re-foamed the woofers ,recapped the crossovers & re-firbed the cabinets with Howard’s Restore a finish.
Both look & sound excellent and are in use daily.
Yes I bought them for $75 & $100 in very good cosmetic condition with rotted woofers.
But I have several full days work in each pair because I am a perfectionist.
No way I would sell mine for $150-$200 rather give the to friend or family.
Yours look excellent and if you take into consideration the time & labor spent getting them in tip top shape & ready for at least another 20 years.
I think $300 is fair if you are happy with them…They are a classic speaker in every sense of the word. They are a also a perfect match for your Marantz receiver!
Proof that nice vintage gear doesn't have to cost a small fortune.
To put things in perspective you could go to a “Big Box" store & see what $300 gets you…
I seriously doubt that anybody will bother with them in the future when the foams rot or blow a driver…they will most likely end up in a landfill or GW.

My Dad has a 1961 Corvette that he bought for $2500 and then spent 4 years doing a frame off restoration.
So I guess he would post on THE Classic Corvette board he bought his Bloomington Gold award winning 61 Vette for $2500?
I always wonder what the point of I got mine for pennies on the dollar valuations of gear are?
Seems like more & more it is about the score & not about the value of the gear and years of enjoyment that the gear will provide or the,years of knowledge & experience and the work put into them to make them mint or better than new( better quality caps hours of hand sanding & refinishing.. ect)
Thats why some AKers don’t bother trying to sell on gear barter town anymore.

Professional musicians shouldn’t play all night fo $50 or for burger & beer & newly recorded music released by todays recording artist shouldn’t be free to everyone on the internet…Some things have value or at least they used to.
