Ah cats, I’ve had them (and they’ve had me) my whole life.
Most have been outdoor cats but after the coyote apocalypse tens years ago the two we have now are indoor cats with no desire to go outside.

Unfortunately our tabby “Theo” has developed what appears to be a malignant tumor on his abdomen.
So far it hasn’t effected his behavior or comfort but we’re keeping an eye on him.
He’s quite affectionate and even will come to me (eventually) when I call him.

The other cat “Woody” is a bit neurotic but a sweetheart nonetheless. I suspect that before we got him he lead a bit of a ferrel lifestyle.

I'm a cat lover but I'm with you on that. They belong inside.

My cats have always been inside cats (they have an elevated deck about 30ft above the forest floor so they, and the native creatures are safe). The most they get to catch are geckos, moths and the occasional spider. (and ping pong balls)

Agreed ... cats are better, not to mention safer inside!

I can understand the argument(s) to let them loose & roam around the streets on their own, but we all know the risks & usual outcome Not to mention various ear & eye infections, outside life just isn't the place for household cats!

On a side note, this is officially becoming my favorite thread on AK! Keep it up

Agreed ... cats are better, not to mention safer inside!

Nelly doesn't mind being on a leash/harness, so we tether her and let her roam the patio. She's plenty satisfied with that arrangement.
