My Service dog is my number one but our little feline friends pull there weight around here and are loved equally.

She does it all the time so must not be to uncomfortable lol . Cats are a trip though so you never know where they’ll end up perched.

Another story about my childhood cat: When I was a kid, my mother worked part time at a restaurant and would bring fish home for Caesar. He usually wouldn't react to a car pulling in the driveway. Mom didn't have a license yet, then, and my dad would have to go pick her up from work.
Somehow, he knew it was them pulling in at that time and he would be waiting at the back door for them.
When mom was cutting up the fish for him, he would do pull-ups on the edge of the cutting board that pulled out from the counter to get close to the action.
Oh yeah, he did the can opener thing, too. It didn't matter where in the house he was, he was out in the kitchen in a flash when he heard it.
45 years since he died and I still wish he were here.

What a pampered puss! I'm sure she fully deserves it too.
They may be "just" cats, but the really specials ones become important "people" in our lives. My old buddy, Mingus (aka "Mingie") died in 2005 (age 17), and I still miss him dearly. He was a really cool little dude.
Our Nelly is 12 now and most of her days are behind her now, but knock on wood, she's in great health, so we are hopeful that she will have a long life. Along with Mingie, she is one of the most special cats I've had the honor of living with.

Agreed ... cats are better, not to mention safer inside!
I can understand the argument(s) to let them loose & roam around the streets on their own, but we all know the risks & usual outcomeNot to mention various ear & eye infections, outside life just isn't the place for household cats!
I disagree - cats are fundamentally outdoor creatures and I think it's not right to keep them indoors all the time. However, each to their own and I do, of course understand peope's worries about traffic and the like. We are fortunate enough to live in the middle of the countryside and the biggest risk ours face are badgers but luckily they are sensible enough to give them a wide berth!

I mean, if cats could type, probably 60% of our members or better would probably be cats! We even have a thread called "Pictures of cats on audio gear" in the general audio forum.

We are talking about DOMESTIC cats.
Domestic cats are fine indoors. Assuming a cat is well tended(food and water) there is no need for them to be wandering the neighborhood in search of food. Their inquisitiveness can be satisfied by other cats and toys. Their urge to climb can be satisfied by a decent cat perch.
Keep them indoors and they will live longer, happier lives.
Indigenous animals, including birds are better left without domestic cats interfering in their lives.

I hear ya but this was posted in the "turntable" forum, for obvious reasons, It seemed like a logical subject line given the context of this particular sub forum but it seems to have taken on a life of it's own, which I don't think is a bad thing.
Unfortunately, I forgot to put this:
in the post. It was basically tongue in cheek humor. 
I still miss Esther (in front) and Sampson. They were siblings. They were my buddies, always met me at the door when I came home from work. I brought them back to the Petsmart I got them from the day I had to leave the house and go off to truck driving school. I didn't get any sleep at all the night before.
My son's ragdoll, Prince Charming who unfortunately passed away. Prince Charming was the smartest animal I ever met in my life. My ex-wife used have fun with him.
Esther and Sampson watching something outside. I tried to see what it was, but didn't want to disturb them.
