Another data point: I really like the Audiolab transport, which I received a few days ago. I own an NAD C 546BEE CD player and thought it was okay, though I've complained on AK before about how I couldn't really hear a difference between the CD player's internal DAC and my Border Patrol DAC SE's output.
What a difference this transport makes! I immediately noticed an improvement in detail and dynamics, but only this morning, while playing the Talking Heads' "Remain in Light," did I notice the HUGE soundstage. Relaxed and powerful, just the way I like it. The Audiolab/BP combo is fantastic.
The NAD is in my bedroom system now.

I hesitate to relate this, but it's true. Last night I had a trippy brainwave moment while listening to the skronking of Anthony Braxton's Opus 23B. Listening to his music has often felt like work or forcing myself to eat my vegetables because it's so weirdly challenging, but all of a sudden, I found myself having fallen into his strange groove and had this weird semi-out-of-body experience while grokking on what he was playing. No, I wasn't on drugs or drinking. Now I know transports can make a difference. My transport transported me.

At first going to pair it with a PS Audio DAC connected by an old 4' DIY Canare digiflex gold rcapoo3f terminated with Canare RCA (Stereophile Recommended)

This is a Top Class Audio Unit -- Fit and finish , operation & Sound Quality
If one believes in 'break in' this will only get better
Plays all of my CDRs that I feed into it and of course Retail CDs
I'm going to keep it in my office system til Sunday... Then into main sys.

My Schiit Modi has burned in and I'm not noticing a lack of treble detail now, its still smooth but with enough bite to wring out detail. Right now I have it hooked up to the Audiolab via a starter $7 toslink cable ( I have a decent coax coming) and this relatively inexpensive combo murders every integrated CD player I've owned and heard, it keeps digging up new information from CD's I've listened to for years. The most outstanding thing about this transport is the presence it brings particularly to female voices, seems like they've taken 5 paces forward and now they are 6-7 inches from the mic. I haven't been so enthused with a piece of HiFi like this in a long time, I just keep going through my CD's while my turntable sits collecting dust.

HiFi Heaven has the Audiolab 6000CDT at $499 vs $549 at Audio Advisor.
Plus no sales tax ?????
Net is almost $100 less.
Frank, any problems or reservations about HiFi Heaven ... never dealt with them before.
My finger is on the buy button.

Have it in my main system now. It has taken over the CDT duty of my OPPO 105
I'm looking forward to using it with my new Cambridge Audio CXN v2 Network Player. Not many reviews using a CDT with the CXN v2

With Hi-Fi Heaven, it's Buyer Beware. The owner, Joe, is a real jerk. Every dealing I've had with him has been negative. If you do a Google search, you'll see dozens of others have had similar bad experience. You may save a few bucks with Hi-Fi Heaven, but why take the risk. Plus, why support someone less-than-reputable when there are so many better dealers out there.

I just received my Schiit Audio Bifrost yesterday, and I am floored by the improvement in resolution and dynamics - but I only had the onboard computer sound. Now with the Bifrost, and spinning familiar CDs in a Panasonic DVD player - which is better than I have ever heard from these, I am ready to buy an Audiolab 6000CDT, as soon as possible.

Nope, just got off the phone with Audio Advisor and their customer service is awful. If you don’t experience a problem in the first 30 days you are on your own. I wouldn’t buy from them again.
