belt needed for Wollensak 8080 8 track deck

Does anyone know where i can get a belt for my Wollensak 8080 8 track deck. It is working for now, but the belt is slipping very badly. Everything else works well. thank you in advance

Did you try cleaning the belt? 409 works well. If you have an "electronics distributer" nearby, they normally stock belts. Otherwise, if you know the measurements, you can order belts online. If the original is stretched, a size or 2 smaller should do the trick.

Reeltoreel68, we keep meeting up around here today.

As matter of fact, I just changed the belt on my Wollensak 8080 today, and recapped the amplifier board while I was at it. Bought a download of the Service Manual, which was a big help.

The belt is supposed to be a 12.5", but my favorite source for belts didn't have a 12.5" and the two 12.6" belts they carry both seem a little wide (the belt absolutely must fit inside the flanges on the motor spindle). I ordered the 12.7" belt and it fits without any looseness and it seems to be working very well. There is a speed adjustment for the motor, so you can fine tune once you get the new belt on.

Where did you get the manual from? I am unable to find an 8080 manual. dependent on 8075 series from HiFi... pretty low resolution. if you have something, I would be very grateful. Thanks
