I was just wondering what everyones opinion is on replacement inner sleeves for LPs. I've heard debates about the acid-free paper sleeves and the plastic static-free sleeves. Which ones are better?

This is what I like to use for my inner sleeves:

Diskeeper Ultimate Audiophile Inner Sleeves - Absolutely the best inner sleeve ever made! Sleeve City is proud to announce the introduction of our newest record sleeve, the Diskeeper Ultimate Audiophile Inner Sleeve. The design is the same as the old Discwasher VRP sleeve, which was sometimes known as "rice paper" - but better quality! Two layers of anti-static high-density poly are sandwiched around an inner paper layer providing maximum protection for your rarest and most valuable lps at a price that is substantially less than any comparable sleeve on the market.

Yes, the Discwasher VRP was at one time the very best Sleeve available IMO, but no longer made. I've probably 100 in my LP collection.

As far as I know, the Mobile Fidelity Inner Sleeves are the exact same replacement as well, and are an identical clone of the Discwasher VRP.

It is possible that all three mentioned are coming from the same manufacturer, just a different name plastered on them. Perhaps if I had my own business, and wanted to buy 20,000 of them at a crack, I could have "Moe's Super Duper Ultimate Sleeves" printed on them. Mark

Dang it Joyce!!! I was still all pumped up over the price quoted and you went and burst me bubble LOL.

I have some of the original VRP's in my collection I have also put everything I clean in Mofi sleeves which are as far as I can tell the same thing.

I buy from Sleeve city so no doubt I'll try their house brand with another 1500 sleeves to buy before I'm caught up I don't mind saving a few pennies.

About a month ago I asked SC if there was a discount for the #1000 level. They said I'd have to order #10,000 for a better price since they don't mark them up much. So they say.

Sorry Mark. Guess I should have let the dream live a little longer. :) ...but remember, it was ehoove teasing us like that...

My apologies Mark, I really need to slow down sometimes!

I used to buy the Realistic super-duper sleeves from Radio Shack years ago, which I recall as being a knock-off of the Discwasher sleeves. They were a pretty good sleeve, but I can't say I have any for sure anymore.

Sleeve City's 'Rice Paper' style Ultimate Sleeves. Quite a few of the first batch I ordered were tight. They replaced a whole package of 50. Good customer service too.

Diskeeper 1.5 round-bottoms from Sleeve city, $14.95 per 100.

If I could find them elsewhere for the same price, I'd buy them, cause Sleeve city's service is horrid...

I use these. I am not really sure how they compare to the MFSL ones but they are a little cheaper and pretty decent quality from what I can tell.
