Birds - Post 'em up

Catching up with my pics.
1) Redwinged blackbird, 2) Spotted Towhee, 3) Northern Flicker, 4) Great Horned owl, 5) same owl in daylight, 6) super deep crop of image #4. I've been hearing the owl off and on for a couple months and finally had time to go looking for it about a month ago. Found it about 80' up in a White pine tree around the corner from home.

More pics of the owls this eve. I just love these birds, and am delighted that they are so close to my home. The adult is probably the mother; I've been told they stay closer to the nest while the father may be hunting. Somebody elsewhere also referred to the owlets as Muppets, and I think that seems appropriate. I saw two of them this eve, but only one posed for me.

I'd guess Barrow's Goldeneye, too. The white mark on the face goes above the top of the eye, and the white patches on the top trailing edge of the wings are pretty small.
From a Northern California bike trip. Had to hurry to get this restless guy.
