Just saw a preorder on Amazon. 22 movies for $200. Oh, Blu-ray. Hard to believe it's been 50 years. Casino Royal was the first, wasn't it? David Niven?

[gladiator335]

Casino Royale was the first book in 1953.
First movie was Dr. No in 1962.

[Sam Cogley]

There was an hour-long CBS television adaptation of "Casino Royale" that came out shortly after the book, for the sake of completeness.

Nice Laser Disk player.

That's a great deal for a full bluray set. Is that in a special Anniversary packaging?

Im still playing goldeneye for the wii. the golden controller it came with is pretty cool.

I hope they add extras like making of and interviews with the stars. It adds to my enjoyment of the movie itself.

[Bigerik]

Finally will get On her Majesty's Secret Service on BluRay!

goldfinger, my all time favourite bond movie. i remember watching it at the movie theatre when i was about 12. that would make it 1966. am i close?

[jntit]

Half a century, hard to believe. Goldfinger was a good one, off beat bad guy. The books were better, far gritter, is the best way I can think, to describe it.

[Sandy G]

Goldfinger was in 1964. Thunderball, '65, & You Only live Twice in '67.

[pioneer54]

ok, i was 10. i was thinkin with the nude gold female body i wouldn't be allowed admission back then.

They sure don't make'm like that anymore. All the 60's & 70's Bonds were excellent entertainment. They are still just as good today.Sean Connery was the perfect 007.

Have enjoyed most Bond Flicks, including the non-canon 1st Casino Royale and Never Say Never.

Each was its own quirky take, although I do think the over the top humor writing became the series downfall for awhile.

IMO, truly, if you give each Bond actor a good script and don't overdo the SFX or humor, they each carried it off well.
