c29 serial number

My c29 serial number located on the back is not legible. Is it anywhere else on the chassis?

There may be a chassis number somewhere stamped into the chrome frame/base. Only McIntosh has the decoder ring that transforms a chassis number into a serial number.

that' s right rich ! only the factory can , but is it true today ( C29 ! ) ?

take a look on my pictures and you will understand what you have to look somewhere in the back of your preamplifier !

Yes it was a mis represented ebay purchase. Came in rough shape and I could not make out the SN# Despite that I gave it TLC and sent off to Terry. Would like to put the proper SN back on. Definately a c29
