I keep hitting around 1450. Then, I mess up or something, and go back to 1400.

Against 1300-1400 bots , I have won a few times. But that’s about my limit. Against real people it is a different story. About 8-900 seems to be where I top out.

Gotta try it out. Playing against humans is just different from playing against the computer. People sometimes do the most unforeseen things. Computers can make these really oddball moves, too — but they are usually heading in a specific direction.

I have noticed ,depending on the Bot level, they will make a huge blunder at some point . Some of the bots are Adaptive too. If you play better they play better. Bots will use standard openings too.

Okay, thanks! I need to form a solid standard defense against standard opening games. Gotta sit down and really learn the Caro-Kann (I'm so lazy...).

Yes, there is a Magnus bot on chess.com and it's currently rated 2882. Go to the "Play Bots" page, scroll down to "Top Players" and be prepared for the shortest game you've ever played. I let him play white and he opened with A3...

Magnus is last on the list, but still has the highest rating of the current top player bots.

I don't even remember high school sports scores, except when we went to the finals. Sports were mostly about hanging with the guys and picking up chicks.

Oddly, there doesn't seem to be the same "pick up chicks" attraction with chess?

Now, a Coach Bot sounds good to me.

I'm VERY, VERY bad at blitz chess. There's no way I could win a game with a total of 5 min of moves.
