CL issues - help

I finally made the plunge and posetd a few items on CL. I was able to sell a few items to some nice folks. However, now someone scammed my account and posted several cars/suv under my account. What is the solution to this?

I would change my password immediately. then,you could use someone's phone and or computer to contact them and try to find out who it is. ( so they cant directly link you to a phone #) you can also contact CL to report abuse. There isn't much they can do with your account..its not linked to anything except your e-mail address. maybe set up spam links ? :scratch2:

Can you go to your account page and see their listings? If so then delete them all and change your password.
You could also close your account and create a new one using a "disposable" email account from yahoo or hotmail.

I have sold on CL many times and have never been given an account. Each sale is set up with an annoymous email that forwards the contacts to me. Maybe it is different in different areas?

Same here... I never set up an account. You can use CL without one... If you can't get into your CL account, then contact CL to have them delete the account... Then never use an account with CL again...

I want to know though how someone gained access to your account.. as in how did they know or get your ID and password... You had to make some sort of mistake somewhere for that to happen.

If I remember correctly, to place an ad in say "help wanted" they give you an account. That doesn't mean you have to use that same account to sell however.
