WRONG!!!
I got scammed out of $75.00 a few years back and the guy requested that I pay with a USPS money order. Never sent the goods.Tried and tried to get the money back. It costs even MORE money to process the claim. USPS uses a third party for money orders they are NOT postal money orders.
I even had my attorney send this as**ole a certified letter, la, la, la...
I was out $75.00
Chalked it up to a lesson learned.
The ONLY way I send money to anyone is a bank draft from BofA. If the recipient doesn't like it...I don't bother.

And I would have sent your item no problem. But yes, it's a leap of faith.

Everything turned out OK. It took the Uship guy's cash payment confirmation to make the deal.
The only person who can get ripped off NOW is the Uship guy. He was paid through Paypal.

Turns out the buyer loads 40 foot containers and ships the contents overseas for resale.

Cash in hand is always king! Good to know how uship works.

There is an audio exporter in my area who sends four 40 foot containers a month to the Far East. Our stuff is disappearing fast.

I think they really stepped up to the plate and paid a fair price considering that they will flip the stuff.

From what I've been reading, the Asian Market is far more willing to pay (what I think this stuff is worth) than the North American Market. It does mean that I get to hear all kinds of gear, which is a very good thing.

So it is a win win situation right now. However, one day, these same items are going to be worth a lot more and we will be paying through the nose to get them back. And the shipping companies will be the big winners.

Yep, I read everyone's advice and this one covered that one for me.

The scam in this case is that he sends you funds from a stolen paypal or credit account. Paypal will discover the issue and take the funds out of your account, and your item will likely also be gone. If he is offering to send extra money so you can pay his "movers" that is a giant red flag. Just google "Craigslist PayPal scam" and read up on it.

Could be legit, or it might not be. If you're selling something particularly valuable I would not accept payment that way. As BigVoy said, if you must then make sure the account is a verified one and send him an invoice.

I've sold her more stuff since this thread. Much more convenient than the usual CL sale.
