I'm a very happy owner of a Clear Audio Symphony. This is one very sweet cartridge. It's very detailed while maintaining a very musical presentation. If I was comparing it to my previous Denon 103R I'd say it was much more detailed, highs are more real and smooth with no grain, tonal balance half way between the 103R and neutral with the same musical engagement that the 103R gives. The lower octaves are solid and honest. If you have a poor recording it will tell you about it. A good one rewards you with pure amazement! I love this cart and unfortunately it opens a window to what spending a little more can do. This could get me spending even more later:thmbsp:

Art, the black platters of Clearaudio are Black Acrylic platters.
My fav. record clamp :

I`m the greatest fan in Holland of the Clearaudio Outerlimit.
I do also use the Clearaudio Harmonicer:
This Harmonicer is made of virgin vinyl flat at one side ( bottom ) and the other side is going a little downsize ( thinner ) to the outside, with tiny groove`s in the suface.
Putt a record on the Harmonicer, Clamp it with the Twister and place the Outer limit.
Your record has now the perfect fit with your platter.
The Outer limit is`nt designed for warped records but for being the record as a part of the platter.
My present arm is the Unify 14" with a Maëstro wood MM cartridge.
I own a few Clearaudio turntable`s but at the moment I`m fooling around with an old idler drive, tweaking in progress.

I am glad to see other people love their clearaudio tables.
I currently have the Avantgarde Magnum, Performance se, and The Emotion.
I like the ovation, but I think the next one I want is the Innovation Wood.

I just bought a B-Stock TT15 and was wondering if anyone has compared the Virtuoso Ebony to a Grado Sonata? I found one review that pegged them to be pretty similar with the Grado sounding more Gradoish and the Virtuoso being a little more neutral and detailed. I am very happy with my Sonata and the Virtuoso still has the factory seal on it so I'm hesitant to open it and I'm considering selling it to recoup some of the cost of the TT but the audiophile craziness in my head is wondering if I'm missing out on not trying the CA.:screwy:

I was curious since the new Clearaudio Emotion SE uses a 28mm platter like the Marantz TT15-S1 if the 28MM CMB upgrade would work on the TT15. I emailed Clearaudio and got a response that they now offer a TT15 specific CMB upgrade. Part number is CMB008
It does exist and it can be ordered either by your dealer or here in the US from Musical Surroundings. It's $500 + shipping from Germany. I'm just not sure at that price if it's really worth it. I'm going to think about it for a few days.

Can I check how long you had to break-in the cartridge before you you were satisfied with the sound. What were your impressions during the intial run-in stage and how did the sound change over time.
I have just installed the same cartridge and I would like to see if my impressions match.
