Coffee

Close to 250lbs. of greens. White box holds 65.

That's quite the stash. I seldom have more than 5-10lbs in my pipeline. Often 5 or less. If I had to say, I probably roast somewhere around 1/3 of what we drink. Would be more but a local roaster sprung up who does a decent job. My roasting is mainly for variety since the local keeps it simple with just one bean for coffee, Columbian. Price is OK too.

Sorta like my home brewing too. Started to take off on that when the closest microbrew was 120 miles away. Now there are decent ones roughly 30 miles in any general directions.

I agree that Starbucks “house” is not very good. Strength is not an issue with me, but the bitterness is. That’s why I go for Pike there.

There is a local roaster nearby so I pick it up as needed and try different ones, preferring the central American ones. Costa Rican is number one so far.

And going away for work on short notice. So, the beans I'd planned to be prime this week are going into the freezer until I return. Won't be long enough to consider it a good experiment for longer-term storage but it should hold these about the peak of freshness.

Note 3/8 is the storage date. They were roasted last Wed.
