Commercials You Hate

Hehehehe... Junior was "The Real Deal"-he WASN'T acting, that was his natural tone & speaking voice. But he was also supposedly a really nice fella, & sometimes He'd forget/mess up his lines, I don't think he read too well. And that putz T.C Baker sounds a LOT like Junior did. But where w/ Junior you could believe whatever he said, that Baker character, I wouldn't trust him in a Shithouse w/a Muzzle on... He just sounds "Oily" as all hell..

And about ALL the Pill ads. Myst a Chryghty, HALF of em I can barely speak,, there is generally a NEW Campaign for the NEXT Miracle Cure every week... And they're DECIEVING as hell. And that poor, aristocratic-lookin', Saintly lady named "Cory" who has Metastatic Breast Cancer... I asked my wife who' was an RN, & she said that poor lady had Better be Gettin' all her Chyte in Order, 'cause SHE ain't gonna be around too much longer.. No, it AIN't the "New Normal", Lady.. There's gonna be some Singin in a small spot of Ground, YOU ain't gonna hear. They put these Blivvets on TV, & get the hopes up of folks who really DO have this stuff, & then THEY wonder WHY they don't look or feel as good as Saintly Cory does...
The one for Otezla amuses me, didn't know know Nicky O'Tezla was Irish. Maybe only on St Paddy's day, the rest of the year he's Serb/Croatian by origion.

Very few bother be, but maybe political ones (no explanation needed), and the rip off short term cash loan ones where they target the most vulnerable in society.
For the most part I block those ones out, ignore them.

Speaking of insurance commercials. There's a lady here who everytime she starts showing wrinkles the next commercial shes all stretched tight again. Shows off all the expensive toys she buys with your money too.

I don't hate the commercials, just wouldn't give her my money.

I despise all commercials/advertisements of any type and of any media, and especially including the trailers on BR/DVD`s !
Fortunately I can bump past those to finally get to the movie that I purchased & only desire to watch.

Sometimes there are so many(as many as 8 !) that I just keep pounding the forward jump button on the remote, until finally get to the start of the movie !
Haven`t watched any outside sourced commercial TV, or listened to radio in well over a decade, don`t want to know, & damn sure don`t care.

I prefer my closed loop media, and of course, I`m subject to whenever I`m on line, the seemingly saturation of advertisements of products/ services that I have zero interest in now or in the future, but that can be effectively restricted/blanked out.

Yeah, I know that they are needed to pay the bill`s, but just not by me, since I don`t need/want any of their products/services.

To each their own.

The one where they put the cream on their faces and the wrinkles disappear and they act like they now look fabulous. They still look like pigs!

The one where the lady shoves the thing up her nostrils to clean out her sinuses. Geese lady, get a job.

To lighten things up a touch. I get a kick out of the Captain Morgan Rum commercials. Captain!

And the MUSIC... Any time they start w/the Twinkly Piano keys riff, or some Putz starts Strummin' a Ukulele, OMG, Watch Daphk Out ! you're Fixin' to get Hosed/Scammed, Big Time, To The Max... Some Ad agency years back decided twinkly piano keys denoted in Boobus Americanus' feeble minds "Warmth & Sincerity", so Great Gawdamighty, if they want an Ad to show THAT, they'll have 2,3 Liberaces/Elton Johns bangin' away on the ol' Pye-Enny... Same w/a Ukulele... Boobus told the advertising Interlocutors Ukes denote happy, carefree Good Times, so if you're tryin to hawk THAT emotion/connotation for your Manger/Wurzels, pour on the Uke music, Jasper.. Along w/a Good Dollop of Whistling.. THAT also connotes Happy Times, sayeth Boobus....

I don't watch TV, nor listen to the radio anymore.
There's nothing on either that attracts me.
I even quit listening to spotify because of their damn ads, and I'm not paying for their streaming service.

But ads must work, otherwise they wouldn't be everywhere.
But I really can't think of anything I ever bought because I saw or heard a commercial.
On the same note, I've never bought anything because someone cold called me on the phone.

When I finally kicked DTV out of the house it was mostly because the programming and the commercials seemed to be catering to people with the mentality of a six year old.

And I have to ask, who in their right mind would make an appointment to see a doctor to find out if a pill that they don't even know what it's for is "Right" for them?

The best part of the pill for everything mentality is simple Life Style (diet) changes can typically fix most of the problems. :dunno:

But hey lets dump a bunch of pills down our throats as its easier. o_O

Damn, I forgot to stand on my soap box

Now that I am working from home, I see a little daytime TV. I have just one word to describe daytime TV commercials:

Mesothelioma. Oh, and plaque psoriasis.

Good lord, do that many people really have mesothelioma and psoriasis? To make 75% of the commercials about it? -MUTE!-

(OB)noxitril You've heard them. "Like Viagra on Steroids".
Boner nostrom ads in prime time (or anytime) still dumfound me. Boner Bob hawking Enzite must have spurred some interesting questions from the kids during the evening viewing, for instance. This is actually a really old pitch, anyone remember "Dr" John Brinkley and the goat gland transplant surgery? It's a fascinating convoluted tale.
