The guy at fixmydual thought the 1019 was the best dual.
I like mine but i don't know enough about the differences to make comment.
OPs is a score and a half. As clean as the other one was , (with the pristine plinth and dust cover) still a good deal)

Oh,
I don't know if records actually got damaged falling or being fallen on from the stacking spindle, i do remember cringing when it happened

It sounds great and operates flawlessly.

Strange how things happen.
I just found this 1214 yesterday at a thrift store.
It doesn't turn on but has a nice Empire cart.
I know it was a less expensive model but I like it.
Need to check if it's the switch or the motor when I get time.
It's really not in bad condition and will clean up nicely.

I realize this post is slightly > 2 yrs old, but wanted to comment on the ADC cartridge. I have a 230x & love it. I was a teenager when ADC was making the 220-250x carts/stili. All my friends & I referred to them as 'bricks', well, because of their shape & appearance. Anyways, the ADC carts & stili sound terriffic to me. I still have the 230x & prefer ADC's & Shures on these Dual tt's.
Congrats on your 1009. Always liked the sound of a 1009. Fixed dozens. Before LPs made their comeback you get one for $50. Not anymore! Now that $140 is a good price. You got the German built base and cover too! Build quality is much better than the base and cover supplied by US distributor United Audio. Like on the 1214. Worked on several 1214s. Though not as rugged as the 1009, they don’t sound bad. I am using a cool dust cover like your 1009 on my 1219.
I remember the first 1009 I fixed up. Had it in my bedroom hooked to a Pioneer QX 949 paired to JBL 100s up front with Dynaco A25s on the rear. Put a Frank Sinatra LP on it. Sounded like he was singing at the foot of my bed! Really! Those 1009s are that good. Enjoy. Also, the headshells don’t give you problems.

I've been using a 1009 for a little while with a Shure M55 and a Jico SAS stylus. Thinking about applying some damping fluid to arm lift rod to slow the arm's decent a bit in automatic mode...has anyone tried that? Also I threw my GeoDisc on to check the overhang and the stylus sits back about 1/4" too far. These headshells have pre-drilled holes for cartridge mounting and are not adjustable. Thinking about modifying my extra headshell in order to get the overhang right. Has anyone experimented with that?

Gary, Dual put que levers on their later 1009 versions. I have a 1009SK2 & it has a queing lever & anti-skate.
That's what's cool about the ELAC tables with the screw built into the shell to adjust overhang. Neat idea.
