Congrats on your 1009. Always liked the sound of a 1009. Fixed dozens. Before LPs made their comeback you get one for $50. Not anymore! Now that $140 is a good price. You got the German built base and cover too! Build quality is much better than the base and cover supplied by US distributor United Audio. Like on the 1214. Worked on several 1214s. Though not as rugged as the 1009, they don’t sound bad. I am using a cool dust cover like your 1009 on my 1219.
I remember the first 1009 I fixed up. Had it in my bedroom hooked to a Pioneer QX 949 paired to JBL 100s up front with Dynaco A25s on the rear. Put a Frank Sinatra LP on it. Sounded like he was singing at the foot of my bed! Really! Those 1009s are that good. Enjoy. Also, the headshells don’t give you problems.
