Dual 1219 motor replacement

The motor for the Dual 1219 I am working on has visibly open windings from a gouge mark. Can I replace this motor with one from a 1209 if I change the spindle pulley?

Sorry those motors are entirely different. No can do. I had a bad motor (rare) on one. Just for fun and knowing it might not work, I used a winding from a 1019 motor and the upper and lower bearings from my 1219 motor. I found a working 1219 motor for the 1219. But have used the home made 1019/1219 motor in a 1229. I have it in my shop. Play it a lot. It’s a little noisy but it works. Have had it since last May. Still going. Motors do show up on EBay. Around $50. Since I have 2 working 1219s l may be parting out 2 1219 “projects.” Both motors on these need a good cleaning and lubrication. May part one out. Welcome to AK.

The motor out of a 1209 will replace the different style motor of the 1219. The 1209 motor is the flat style with the big copper quick start winding. Bothe motor operate at the same rpm (1750 60hz). The crucial part is the 60hz pulley part #218276. That is a very rare critter. After installing the 1219 pulley on the 1209 motor and setting correct pulley height, it works perfectly. Both motor mounts are the same. Thank you
