Kent: Problem is that there isn't any lubrication info anymore in the service manuals for the newer Dual models with that small chassis, neither the belt-drives with DC motors, nor the direct drives.
Bagboy: I'd try a drop of very light/low viscosity oil like for example CRC/Kontakt Chemie Lub Oil 88/Sprühöl 88 applied at the top, where the axis protrudes from the motor case. The bottom bearing would probably only be properly accessible, if one disassembles the motor, which isn't an easy job with those little DC motors like the DC205. So, if lubing at the top doesn't help, you'd probably better grab a new DC205 (Dualfred(.de) should still offer these, complete with motor pulley).
And regarding the service manual, unfortunately im not aware of a free download source for a service manual for the 450/455. But you can refer to the service manual for the Grundig variant PS8000 on Lulabu's archive: http://grundig.pytalhost.com/PS8000s/

Thanks for the information. I did put a couple of small drops on Mobil 1 0W-30W in the top like you described. Also while getting the motor free from the chassis I noticed the three small screws holding it on were a little lose. After putting the oil in the top of the motor and making sure the screws were tight I put it back together and it's working perfectly. It has a like new Shure V15 IV on it and it sounds very nice.

Bb: Nice to hear (well, to read, that is...). I've also got a 455 - but mine is a newer 455-1M, upgraded with the older, heavier platter version with lead ring and the good rubber mat (both new old stock from Dualfred) your 1st gen. 455 should also sport. And yup, combined with a good, high compliance cart/needle, the 450/455ers are pretty decent turntables - even if fans of the older Dual tables will typically not have much love for the newer models.
I just wouldn't recommend the current Dual-Fehrenbacher incarnations anymore, as the raised praices in combination with Fehrenbacher's downgrades over the years have made these models a lot less attractive...
