this is what I have and how it is hooked up
Yamaha cr 600-pioneer 707 r2r-teac v 3000 cassette-pioneer sg 9500eq
tape a cr600 rec out to input on eq
tape a cr600 pb to output on eq
tape b cr600 rec out to line in on cassette
tape b cr 600 pb to output on cassette
eq tape rec to r2r input
eq tape play to r2r output
I do not see how both the cassette and the r2r can go to the eq ???

It all looks to be connected properly with about 3 different possibilities, but let's go with what you have already.

Leaving everything connected the way you have described:

To listen to the cassette on tape B > Tape monitor switch to TAPE B.
To listen to the cassette through the EQ > Tape monitor switch to TAPE A, RECORD SELECTOR switch (or tape dubbing switch) to TAPE B ( or tape B > A ), equalizer switch to EQ IN.

To listen to the reel-to-reel through the EQ, Tape monitor switch to TAPE A > EQ switch to TAPE.
