Favorite Bourbon

I honestly prefer the Jim Beam Black to the Old Forester. But that's just me.
Now if only I could find a Scotch for under $40 that I really like...
I remember decades back encountering someone describing Scotch whiskey tasting "like burned paper cups".
Not for everyone, I suppose.

Scotch covers a pretty wide range, from as soft and flavorless as Canadian whiskey to very smokey/peaty flavor bombs.

I don't have a lot of experience, but my favorite right now is Bulleit. Before that I tried JD, and Knob Creek and one other I don't remember. But Bulleit Rye and Bourbon are both great on the rocks, neat and in an old fashioned.

Lagavvullin is extremely peaty, and I know an avid scotch drinker that actually doesn't like it.
But I find that by the time I get to the bottom of the second (short) glass, my palate has gotten used to the extra peat, and it becomes very smooth and delicious.
So I agree, its excellent.

I just recently bought a 2 pack, one each of Bulleit rye and bourbon. Both are pretty nice.

I find the Bulleit to be a tad light for my taste. I still enjoy it, but my preference is for a deeper flavor if available.

I have some Buffalo Trace been sittin' in a drawer for years - ever since I was dx'd with Hep C, which has been cured, thanks to advances in pharmaceuticals. Liver damage ain' no joke. Never was a real big drinker, but I do like the taste of bourbon. Reading about the brands you guys like makes me wish I could try 'em out, but that's not hapnin'. I find other ways to feed that demon that don't bother my liver, or what I have left of one. Miss beer also. Liked Grolsch.

Yeah, sorry to hear that musichal. But yer right, there's lots of other things to enjoy.
Some of the euro brewers make a pretty good non-alcohlic beer. Becks or Heineken etc. A waittess accidentally served me a n/a beer once, and I was almost halfway thru it before I noticed.
And All I usually buy are the nice crisp, flavorful euro beers. They've been making them for 3 or 400 years (probably not the n/a beers), and the pricing is great for a premium beer. Tho I do love a Guiness occasionally. They should make a n/a Guiness.

Honestly, my idea of a replacement led me to purchase a vaporizer, if you get my drift-cloud. Beats combustion by a mile. Packs two.
