I noticed on ebay that little diode from the UK has the original SanKen 2SC2607,2SA1116 transistors I wonder if they are counterfeit or the real deal?2SC2607 - NPN = MJ21196G - http://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/ON-Semiconductor/MJ21196G/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMshyDBzk1/Wi/PUgtclNldlzlFQOXdLBkg=
2SA1116 - PNP = MJ21195G - http://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/ON-Semiconductor/MJ21195G/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMshyDBzk1/Wi/PUgtclNldly3XRm7%2bzEL0=
I noticed someone using the above transistors for a rebuild the other day - and wondered why they didn't use the normally preferred MJ21193G/94G - now I know why..... they've been marked OBSOLETE!

but I can't see any difference between them....
Those MJ15003/4's have caught my eye too lately as McIntosh is quite fond of them.
However have had nothing but good luck with the 93/4's and never seen one fail.
Sorry Craig - that was totally incorrect information.Hyperion,
You made my heart stop when you stated the 93/94s are obsolete. I just checked Mouser and I don't see anything about being obsolete. The non G (lead) version is obsolete though, more info please.
Craig
It seems I was being and idiot - I think I must have been seaching on the non-G type numberNot sure why John thought they weren't available.....
This soooo fake, soo wrong!...believe me (moving tiny hands)Not sure why John thought they weren't available.....
