i have bought legit stks from that seller as well. as long as they were the oddball numbers, like mk 2s and xx39, they were legit.I ended up buying them from a seller called "semitronus" from the auction site and they looked legit & tested very well.

They are rebranded Sanyo STK-0060II's. There are a lot of fake STK modules out there, so it's kinda a crapshoot. For the models without the -II there are discrete options that people have made kits of, but I'm not aware of anything like this for the -II's. I think I did see an updated version at some point that makes use of the extra connections that the STK-00x0-II's have, but never seen them for sale anywhere.
I just went thru this for my CR-640 which uses some smaller modules, STK-0040II. I ended up buying them from a seller called "semitronus" from the auction site and they looked legit & tested very well. They might be clones too but they seem to be high quality. Sadly he doesn't make any of those kits for the STK-00x0-II's. I vaguely recall that you may be able to use the regular ones in amps that came with -II's (the -II's make use of 4 extra pins that are not connected to anything in the original STK's - they just go to some extra capacitors on the PCB), so the kits might work but someone would have to reach out to him. I'd be surprised that he would leave out the -II on the product description page if it can be used to replace them, missing out on a whole market segment.If you're looking for a legitimate STK-060 module, you may have luck with chrisautosound on eBay. They make replacement, work-a-like, installs-same-space modules for many of the STK modules. I've used the TA- series from them in my Kenwood higher end units. Looking at their current listings, they have a replacement module that works for STK-060.

edit: I see on his eBay page it says it can replace "IG-0296", which appears to be a typo for IG-02960, since he has a picture of a burnt up IG-02960 in there. In that case, it sounds like it would work...(since its more capable than ig-02960 or ig-02970) cool!
edit2: his actual company website has a different description, where it says it works in ig-0297 - lol - so should be good to go. He needs to do a little website/auction listing cleanup.
they are slightly wider the the original yamaha/stk module, but I think they would clear based on looking up some pics of the cr840 heatsink online.
The 0060II differs from the 0060 by having an additional current gain stage (pre-drivers) to the driver + output only of the 0060 and uses a darlington rather than a single transistor for the bias servo. It also adds diodes that pass input directly to the output supply if the input voltage is higher than that. The 0060Ii has a somewhat higher current rating (8 A, vs 7 A for the 0060) and has a 10x lower distortion spec (0.01%, vs 0.1% for the 0060).(the -II's make use of 4 extra pins that are not connected to anything in the original STK's - they just go to some extra capacitors on the PCB)
