Great SR-71 Blackbird video

In 50 years, the computer went from a device that filled a room, to something you could hold in the palm of your hand.
"Moore's law".
I remember transistors were going to be the next advance in electronix, low power consumption and heat, small size, "eternal" life. Hearing aids were the first commercial products to get them ca late 1952/early 1953. Pocket size personal real superheterodyne radio receivers with loudspeakers a scant few years later.

Summer of `65, I had a summer job with Schering Pharmaceuticals in their Data Processing Dep`t. Their pride and joy was the IBM 360 computer, complete with punch cards, sorters, collators, magnetic tape drives, etc., all enclosed in a huge "clean-room" environment (NO SMOKING ALLOWED !). This behemoth system would now be totally eclipsed by the average desktop or laptop....

Not only would it be totally eclipsed but also equally smaller, and it continues to shrink.

In the early 1960s Soviet Union sold titanium to the US believing they needed it for Pizza Ovens but instead they used it to build the iconic SR-71 Blackbird
