This thread struck a chord. I have 9. Down from a high of 15 I think. And I use 4. Why am I hanging onto the other 5? I think it's time to sell. Bit it's going to be hard to part with my 225. But I never use it. Uggh.

A McIntosh MC225? Sitting idle? Unused? That’s sad—for you and it. I could lighten your load—do you a solid. PM me with your address and I’ll even send you a factory box to ship it. I’d even pay postage.

How about two for each room and a dozen or so for the man cave. Even more if you use only mono amps. 4 for each room and 30 to 40 for the man cave. Thats what happens when you bi-amp and tri-amp. Pool speaker require lost of power out doors and for under water use together. Don't for get the time delays and EQ's to match up the sound when above or below the water. You need one time zone every 15 to 20 feet to keeps the sound all in sync. That is unless you are using a distributed sound system. Yuk. Then the system sounds like your in a K-mart store. Remember those and their Blue Light Specials? They even sold hi equipment in their upscale 4000 series stores.
