I'm sorry, but I disagree. Speaker stuff belongs in the speaker forum. I rarely go anywhere else, and I don't feel like roaming a forum that has everything from microphones to TV's. I probably never would have seen this post.

Yup, a speaker comparison belongs in the speaker forum.

Humm...I actually feel strongly about this one.

I feel it should be hear as well. This is where I come to find out about speakers.

I think this thread stayed fairly civil given the following of these speaker's on this
forum and find the results to be a good thing! Now people will have to hear these
speakers for themselves instead of just thinking they are great for everyone then
pay a lot of money for something they'd be less then pleased with.

I know from the hype here I wanted a pair of these BADLY! And I got 2! And I am
unhappy with there performance, I expected a lot more. But I am not giving up on
them as I feel they have potential and am working with them to make them better.

But yes IMHO they are overated quite a bit.

P.S. I was not at the shootout and heard 2 totaly different pairs with a lot of equipment.

Well.... that's 4 to 2 (I think Kegger agreed ???).

Done deal then. Speaker stuff stays in speaker forum. <the gavel drops>

Too soon to drop the gavel? OK. We'll wait a while more. :D

Speaker comparisons belong in the speaker forum. The suggestion to move this thread to equipment reviews would only serve to hide the results a bit.

There, 5 to 2.

Kegger,

Funny how I knew what you were talking about, when you never said what you were talking about.

A little off topic, but I have been following your "improvement" activities with interest. You wouldn't happen to have some Mach 2's for experimentation ? :naughty:

I think these could be a really nice speaker with some mods to take advantage of those big woofs. They may be nicer to start off with than the unmentioned ones above. I have a old set that need refoaming soon, but will probably lose them to the kid going to University next year (what was I thinking when I said I'ld donate a pair of speaks, ...what was I thinking?) Well, there is the summer to speriment a bit :scratch2: the kid would never know the difference....hey, i'll get hold of you for some ideas if I get ambitious.

Keep "improving" those speakers dude.

A hearty hats off to all involved. 15 pages of pretty civil discourse that slayed a bit of a holy cow on this site.

I think this thread has served its purpose and I propose we move on and leave it in this impressive state. I fear that any further discussion could degenerate.

I'm down with that also!

And yes my vote was for speakers staying in speakers! It's where I spend most of my time to!

Also yes if someone wants to mod some mach's I'm sure we could find some improvements.
(Don't have any though, well not at the moment anyway! lol!)
