I see the third time was the charm! On my first mcd 201(problem child) the 2nd was the charm:thmbsp: I was using a borrowed (from dealer) audience au24 balanced interconnect direct into my mc402 for a few weeks, Also had a jps superconductor which I did not try because of lack of flexability:thumbsdn: The au24 sounded quite nice!
I must say that I do not believe in high priced cables:no: and wish I had a competent pair of reasonably priced balanced interconnects to compare to the au 24 cables.
I do have a positive impression of running balanced cables direct to amp from mcd 201 though! a blacker black was my impression:thmbsp:

For a great low priced interconnect I recomend Guerrilla (see baner link at bottom of page). I'm using a Guerrilla XLR interconnect from my MDA1000 to MC501s with good results.

Balanced of course. Good cheap cables would be Canare from Markertek.

Thanks,

I use wireworld eclipse2 xlr from my 201 to 402. Also tried Nordost reddawn-it had more high end extension. Wireworld was more "balanced".
Great music (direct to the amp), but my ears like the c2200 better in between. Just warmer richer/musical.:music:
Besides, why have 2 Macs if you can have 3.

BTW my 3 week old MCD201 is running flawless.
Manufactured FEB 07.
" It sounds as if each musical instrument has its own space but yet every instrument is integrated" A quote from my wife who has ears more golden than mine. (A/B comparison with sony scd 777es)
Enjoy your new MCD201.
