Ha! That's a good one that I never intended.
No, it's from my middle name which is Bede (pronounced "beed"). That's from The Venerable Bede; my dad was in the church and a lot of our family names came from theological figures. The "buh-duh" came about when Francophones tried to say the name and mangled it. I kind of liked it so it stuck.
Anyway, to prove it works here's what's on now. I'm using my pod clamp on it (not that I necessarily need it) as the one that came with it seems like it needs a longer spindle to get a good grip.

I have an M3D/N21 on an APT-12T now and in my system it's a very good pairing. I've also used a 103R. I didn't think the synergy was there like it is with the Shure, but that could easily be room, system, or just personal preference.

I've installed my Linn Asak cartridge on it with an old Micro Seiki headshell. It seems to work pretty well.
I'm thinking (always thinking) that veneer on this plinth would be nice. Has anyone ever attempted that over the rubber SH-15B3? The B2 is so much prettier, plus this one has some cosmetic flaws. It's not that bad by any means but there are a few scuffs and places where the mounting screws from underneath seem to have been created bumps in the top from being screwed into too far. At least that is what it looks like.
I have to look around for an arm lifter too. I could steal one from an old Sansui arm I have but might pick up a Jelco or something.

That SOTA Reflex clamp is a good one. The collet chuck, in the centre, is adjustable. There is a hex screw that you access from the bottom, which allows you to drop the chuck, a bit, so that it sits flush, when clamped. Unless the spindle is tapered early, or the chuck jaws badly worn, you should be able to adjust the clamp so that it gets good purchase, with the right amount of clamping pressure. If the jaws are worn, I would call SOTA to see if replacements are available. I have the I-clamp, and I love it.
