JBL L 250 A New Addition To My System

These two speakers are about 8 to 10 years apart. I plan on doing a thread on the 5000 with detail photos and any info I can find and measure from mine. The problem is not much info on the net about the rare SP-5000. It's huge at 90lbs with 1 inch wall construction, All panels.

Alright, these Kabuki jet engine loud monsters vs the JBL flagship designed by Greg Timbers. Powered by Mcintosh. I can't wait to see the outcome. :D
lol
Im betting with what Im putting in them the JBLs will sound better(I Hope) at the price deference. The Sansui's just might be optimum for my system and take the lead on shear power

Shootouts are done at same loudness levels. :deal:

Ok I'll set the loudness with the Sansui's and hope the JBLs don't spit foam all over the carpet.

Either way I own two bad ass sets of speakers

The site is getting slow Im going to bed

Congrat's on acquiring a pair of JBL 250's .
I've a got a piar of 250ti's in the same wood finish and they are awesome.
They are my main listening speakers.
My woofers were refoamed two years ago and came out perfect.
They sound great with my McIntosh MC300 driving them or my big Bob Latino M125 tube mono's.
More power does make these speakers sing, and they can dig really deep in the bass.
Enjoy!

Ya I saw the ones you did they are lovely and posted the link here. I might mount a painted black 1/2" MDF board to the bottom a 1/2" smaller than the cabinet. This base will slid around on carpet good. They are indeed walnut but kind of look teak color in the photos, will see for sure tomorrow.

Thanks Zonker

My pleasure! Did you see my threads on my 250Ti crossovers and L250-related work (blue grill cloth and others that I forget)?

FWIW, the LE14H-1 cone kits are NLA, so refoam is the only option.

The rest of the drivers appear to be in nice shape, and since most of them are extinct now as well, that's a good thing.

Thanks Jeffery,

They are in good shape over all and perfect for restoration as designed by JBL. Refoaming is what I will be doing and have the kits on order
