JBL's

I got em!!!!!!! Light Oak colored, in boxes, original packing, and manual. Also grabbed a Technics SL-1700, in box, original packing, manual, with a Grado G-1 cart for $100. Was a pretty good morning.
Pictures later today or tomorrow. :thmbsp:

Here's the TT. Maybe get some of the JBL's tomorrow.

As promised, here's the pictures. They are MINT!
When I first pulled one out of the box, I saw this.....

I figured sure as hell the surround foam started to fall out from the ride home or loading/unloading them. But when I pulled the grills off,

Somewhere down the line, these were both refoamed. The foam is nice and firm and solid like brand new stuff feels like!
No corner dings, no veneer damage. I still have to polish them up, and vacuum the grills, but all in all,

The only thing I found was a couple of pegs on the grills had been busted off, but there is still enough on them to hold them onto the speakers.
I hooked them up to my Sansui Six in the garage for a test run, played a little Steely Dan, and :music::music::music:
Money well spent! Not that I need another pair of speakers, but I couldn't turn them down. Sorry for the crappy phone pics, but I was in a hurry.
Would Howard's work good on this veneer? Just want to ask before I start cleaning them up.
Thanks for all of the :thmbsp:. It feels good to find a nice set every now and then.

That is a scroe...surprised no flippers ahead of you, but then their customers don't appreciate newer JBL's.

Howard's feed-n-wax works just fine. These are still real oak veneer, just lower quality than vintage veneer.

Like someone else said, in the condition you got them, they should be good for over $600.....

That's good to know. I bought them to flip them. If I get $500, I'd be happy. I wouldn't mind keeping them because they do sound great, but I prefer the darker walnut on my HPM's and AR3's. And my wife has already said they must go. :D
I'm sure someone will find these to be a nice addition to their system. I will sell the TT too, so that will make it worth getting up at 3am so I could be #1 in the door! :thmbsp:

I have that exact set with the oak finish. Old English lemon oil twice a year has kept that thin veneer in great shape since 1990. I refoamed them about 5 years ago and they sound as good as ever. I have had many speakers during this time and none have replaced them.
