Hi, Any information of jvc spx 990 (Made in Belgium)? didn't find something usefull on the web.

No useful info? That either means it's very low end or extremely rare high end. Do you have them already? Do you have pics? Jvc made a few really interesting speakers, but 95% of their speaker lube was blah/meh/ugh.

Seriously, though, they don't look all that impressive - probably originally part of a rack system. We had similar systems sold in the US, but the speakers were usually made here as well (even though labor prices here were higher than in the far east, it was still cheaper to make them here than to ship them).

I have a pair of JVC SK-S11 speakers on the shop floor at my work. Picked them up at a thrift store for ten bucks. They are an earlier design from the early 80's and have a 8 inch woofer instead of the 10 inch that appears to be in the spx990. Otherwise looks rather similar and I'd expect them to play similar, as well. Overall not impressive speakers. They will play loud, they at least have that going for them, but sounds thin at lower volume and surprisingly little bass for its size. I had some low end JBL bookshelves installed previously with 6 1/2" drivers that had more bass than these. They still have a sticker on the side stating "Simulated wood vinyl veneer" as it wasn't blatantly obvious. They are fine for the purpose of filling a large room with sound, though.

I have it with another set of x660's, all 4 sound amazing. I screwed up trying to fix a dent in the middle, the paper broke a little, I glued it and a hole was left, I regret it. someone who knows about speakers.
