I was thinking about buying the Kenwood VR-716 and was wondering if they had good sound. I have an Audio Technica ATLP60 turntable which it would be hooked up to and i want good quality sound.

If that Kenwood is a home theater receiver, I would pass. HT receivers are not considered the best choice for music. Buy a stereo receiver for music. What speakers are you using? The AT TT is not highly regarded here, but if it sounds good to you, that's all that matters. Welcome to AK.

By the way, this is the speaker forum.

I had the VR-616, just one step below. I tried it for music, terrible muddy sound, hard to see functions, hidden functions that can only be accessed through many remote control manoevres. Mine had very little usage, but still malfunctioned on a regular basis, complete junk in my opinion, sorry I wasted any time with it. I sent it to the recyclers and it looked like new, didn't matter, junk is junk...
