Hipsters be all over this. No way to upgrade the cartridge on a $2000 turntable.

At the very least, they could offer more of the range of VM95 stylii. You’ll have to replace that elliptical stylus after a few hundred hours, where an ML stylus would last much longer and track better throughout its life. The SH will track better but still won’t last as long as ML.

Then again, maybe that’s the idea - provide a stylus that will sound decent but keep a stream of recurring revenue for Miniot.

You could trim your own vm95 stylus. It's not hard.

I don't think the primary audience for this product is all that interested in knowing how a turntable really works. When the stylus wears out and starts sounding like garbage, they will dump it at the Goodwill and that will be the end of it. It's a Crosley for tech nerds.

Well heck, I hope that happens. I’d never buy one of these at full price, but $50 at Goodwill?

I think it’s pretty cool as a unique piece of analog tech design, honestly, and the controls and aesthetics seem well-executed. It would be a fun conversation piece. But it’s priced like a turntable that would produce very high quality audio, even though it would only offer middling performance by virtue of the cartridge selection and output. Definitely not for someone looking to get the best sound for their dollar.
