Let's see your cans!

Hey Skylab, welcome to AK. How did you end up liking the Fisher for HFs?

Thanks man! I like the Fisher a lot with certain headphones. It has a pretty lush/"tubey" sound, so it's great with headphones like the HE-6, HD800, and even the Beyer T1 and Ultrasone Edition 8. I much prefer other amps with the LCD-2, JVC-DX1000, and Denon D7000.

That is because you have not yet listened to the AKG K1000 via your Leben amp! Yes I am messing with you but in a good way. :D

Ha! Someday...someday

I added a pair of M50s to my living room setup.

Everybody has seen Grado SR60's but have they seen a cat that listens to Grados?

I'll get back to this once I build a headphone amp for them. Right now I'm just feeding them with a Creative Xfi soundcard with my laptop as the sauce.

Anybody familiar with the iGrado's? I want to get them to use with my Blackberry at work. I work outside on a farm, so maybe you could understand why I don't want to take my SR60's there :D

added another vintage studio gem to my headphone collection.

these things are very impressive indeed not only on it's heavy and well built structure of metal, screws and real leather but the sound is much more impressive i ever expected to be.

on the same level as my AKG 240DF just about. every bit as detailed, revealing and accurate but still doesn't compare to my 240df's clarity and has bit more open soundstage. the pioneers are not lacking of course has very impressive instrument separation and can sound very open as well so they are no slouch. they have insanely flat low frequency and high frequency response. could hear everything from the heavy rumbling of 64-feet pipe organs hitting the low notes(20hz region) to the highest peak of a violin.

they use an aluminum voice coil so they do need far more driving force then the 100db@1mw has you believe. i use my 1985 yamaha r-9 class A receiver to drive these guys and them and ortho's have one thing in common....they love the extra power

Once upon a time in Mexico

Just couldnt resist. Depp (Agent Sands) asks Cucuy (Danny Trejo): Are you a Mexi-CAN or a Mexi-CANT?". Cucuy replies assertive: "I'm a Mexi-CAN".

Like a lot of vintage electrostats...crystal clear but weak in the bass. They are an ideal match with the SX-1250 and it's well-implemented tone controls - a low bass boost is basically required. But having done that, the sound is quite good.

nice. also sounds like great match. a powerful amp does make bass light headphones become bass monsters.

Here are my headphones

If you are wondering why there are paperclips lol, the band broke in half so I had to superglue it and brace it.

I've had this receiver for quite awhile but I only just recently discovered that it's headphone section sounds so much sweeter then just plugging directly into my soundcard.

And I don't even like receivers :D

Latest addition to the family :D

I've seen a few websites selling these for $45 or $50.

The average price according to Amazon is about $30 to $34.

Introducing my $16 Koss Porta Pro from Sam Goody :D
