I would agree about the quality of the lighting!

But regarding the gear, VERY nice. When Luxman was really competing, they made some really nice equipment. I've only owned one piece, but I have always liked their design cues, just elegant and clean.

I'm glad you picked that up. Curious what your thoughts are about it after you have listened to it a bit. I know it may not be around long otherwise I might have said after a couple months...

One of the best parts about picking one of those up is the heat sinks are sort of a handle for you to grab and carry the unit face down. The Linear equalizer is a nice touch for the phono inputs. Subtle but makes a big difference in some albums.

They sure do look great. I have a C-1000 preamp (on the projects list) and the T-110 tuner (in the main rig) and love the look of quality in this era of Luxman components.

I wanted an L-100 but could never find one. I settled for the L-80v. Luxman of that period made outstanding looking gear.

I have a C-1010. I plan to refurb. Lot's of Tantulum caps in there to replace.

I remember years ago,before the Linn/Naim cult developed,the C-1000 and M-4000 were group tested in the long-defunct UK magazine 'Practical Hi-Fi' against all of the big name British amps of the time,including Naims.

The Luxmans got the best group score.That was around '77-'78.

I used to own the L100 and it was one of the best amps I ever had - when it worked. Very nice score...is this the one that just sold on Agon? Too bad the pics are so dark...they had very nice wood cabinets that should be seen.
