M4/C4 for $400?

I've got a line on a "nearly mint" m4 and c4 for $400.

Comments?

I've currently got a fully restored CA-2010 that I really enjoy. Would the M4 be a noticeable upgrade?

Well you're looking at similar power output between the two (at least according to the specs). I'd guess the C4/M4 combo could have the potential to sound better, being separates and all.

Since you already have a CA-2010 that you enjoy, I'd just take that money and instead use it to get a more powerful standalone amp. You can usually find amps like the Yamaha P2200 for <$400. You could then just use your CA-2010 as a preamp.

For this it's your personal aesthetics that matters. Black anodized or silver face? Sonically the newer separates, if they're up to spec.

C-4 is a very flexible pre. Important if the feature set allows you to do something your integrated can't.

You will have no difficulty trading/etc this combo if you don't decide to keep it...

M-80/C-80 can go for that I think, or it used to. If you can abide a fan indoors, the rack handled pro amps are the best bang/buck ratio.

c 4 m4 is good when in perfect working condition 400 is ok imho

M-2 or PC2002M

M-4 is a close second only because of power output.

C-4/M-4 bests any of the older silver stuff I have, though I haven't yet acquired a 2010.

$125 for the M4 and $100 for the C4 would be market prices so $400 is high.

If it's local and there's no shipping, they're "mint" and don't need attention, $400 is a fair price for this great combo IMHO. I wouldn't let either of my 2 pairs C-4/M-4 go for less.

Not everyone can get bottom-feeder deals.
