Two Minimus 7W's and matching sub woofer. Sub is a Realistic 12 inch passive, ported down firing. IIRC designed for the Minimus 7. Now to upgrade the 7W's

That looks like a pretty meaty sub for those little Minimuses (...Minimi?). How does it sound? I would imagine there's a bit of a gap between where the 4.5" woofers roll off and the sub comes in.

I found a sub which looks a lot like my Akai (Fostex FE103) T-lines, which should hopefully boost the non-existant bass.

I have that sub and never tried it (it was given to me) as it seemed to light weight to do much and I'm guessing it does not reach real low. It does seem though it would make a nice sub for the 7's.

Friend of mine has one a bit newer than the walnut version in black ash vinyl. Has a Panasonic 12" ported woofer. Half powers around 40Hz as I recall.

I put a 30 Hz test tone through it and it's only slightly less audible than the 50 Hz test tone with the bass control flat. So the bass is pretty good. Compliments the 7's very well.

I have the 7W and would love to find a matching Realistic subwoofer for an office or bedroom setup.

Thanks for sharing.

I just realize it's an all Radio Shack system. I'm driving the 7's and sub with a modified RS Accurian amplifier. Gotta admit, this is one of the better RS systems one could assemble. Radio Shack did make some good stuff now and again. What amazes me even more is the foam surround is intact and working fine. I bought the sub new at least 25 years ago if memory serves.

If you ever do find a sub I suggest you plug the port from the inside with damping material and fill the box approx. 3/4 full with damping material. Cuts the boomyness which I found excessive in the stock model.
