Mission 770 speaker questions

I see a lot of these speakers for sale but rarely see them with the stands or the grills. Were these parts sold separately? Just curious because I think they're beautiful speakers.

Grills disintegrate because they are made of foam. The stands are unique as they have a cutout in the base for the bottom mounted terminals.

I have a pair of the 737Rs, and I can say grills are usually gone probably because of poor design/material. Their grills use hard plastic pegs that fit into rubber grommets on the speaker face. Half those pegs eventually break off over time, become brittle, and the grommets lose elasticity. Mine will stay on...barely. So I just keep them off. Mine didn't come with stands, but there's a plastic bracket on the bottom of the speakers for mounting. Probably sold separately at the time.

I saw a pair for sale for $175. They sounded great. They were missing some of the rubber feet which is not a big deal. But then it got me thinking about the weird placement for the banana plug terminals. Without the stand, you really cannot use the banana plugs unless you set them horizontally. Also, can someone recommend where you could buy replacement grills?

Agree...those first version 770s are strange with the terminal placement. I would just grab some rubber furniture feet from Home Depot before laying horizontal.

Not sure about grille replacements but did see this: https://www.wilmslowaudio.co.uk/mission-770-grilles-2797-p.asp. On the other hand, I bet there are ton of folks out there who build custom grilles of all sorts (just search this site). I'm sure they could easily build something if you give them dimensions. Could probably adhere with velcro strips.
