Very sad news... my condolences to his family and friends.

I couldn't pass over a post by Zilch... no matter how over MY head, because I knew that Zilch "knows his stuff". His contributions to the community will be greatly missed. He left a legacy here, one that will live on.

RIP

Porsche 914 - I think a 1970 model

Was it a Porsche? I heard that he had a Porsche...:scratch2:

I have told Chris that I can get a nice home for the car by someone who will restore it and take good care of it or otherwise just enjoy it. I might be up to the challenge myself if my wife will let me (I already have one - a 73' 2.0) I really don't want to see it thrown away or donated (it would get scraped if it was) as Evan owned it from new.

Truly a sad day indeed.
The content and quantity of the posts so far are an excellent representation of the man himself.
Zilch aka Evan will be missed for years to come on AK. His absence is already hard felt in my world. Rest in Peace friend.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Evan will be missed more than he will ever know.

His family and friends will be in my prayers.

And Evan, your journey is complete,
You no longer have miles to go before you sleep.

Rest In Peace

your sure gonna be missed and remembered by many as a man of many talents who was very generous with his knowledge and time helping others with their audio projects, you will most definitely be missed. if god has a stereo i have a feeling he will be calling on you to make it sound better, and the improvement will be so much better it will start its own heavenly forum and shall be named the "Gwave project"

Rest in peace

Had no idea and am deeply bummed out. It was a pleasure knowing Evan and visiting Zilchlabs.

If I don't meet you no more in this world then uh
I'll meet ya on the next one
And don't be late
Don't be late

:sadwave:

Does anyone know what was Zilches favorite band or lp? I would like to play it as a tribute.
He had quite a varied taste in music but one of his favorites was Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. When I heard the news last Friday I played the whole album on my ZD 007's in honor of his memory. Just remember to play it "stupid loud". ;)

Sad news indeed. I've been on AK less lately (not from any desire!) and missed the whole thing, so quite a shock. :sigh:

So long Zilch, may you have eternal peace, and may you never have to endure comb filtering again. :D

Wow. Just shocking. I knew something was amiss, but, had no idea about this. A gigantic loss for all associated with him. :sigh:

He made such a positive impact with the online audio community. I modded my first cabinets and built my first crossover with his guidance. Zilch, you will be missed.

I hope your tweaking on some heavenly JBL's Zilch.....

Gonna miss you and yer info that is still over my head.

Peace.
