It is a piece by Austin Real Rider, a Sioux-Pawnee ( https://dc.library.okstate.edu/digital/collection/ona/id/55/ ).

It is a mixed media work: ceramic, feathers, bone, leather, and ? We bought this from Austin a decade or so ago, and appreciate it more every day. He (not Austin, but the guy on the wall) is a fearsome fellow, and pretty close to life-size. Thanks for noticing him.

I got to see Sitting Bull's war coat & head dress at the museum in Toronto a couple years ago, along with some other artifacts. It was impressive, and awe inspiring to see. Glad it has been preserved: he gifted it to a Canadian who helped him when he fled the USA, and has been donated to the museum for posterity.

I got to see Sitting Bull's war coat & head dress at the museum in Toronto a couple years ago, along with some other artifacts. It was impressive, and awe inspiring to see. Glad it has been preserved: he gifted it to a Canadian who helped him when he fled the USA, and has been donated to the museum for posterity.

I recently realized that Sitting Bull was still living when each of my four grandparents were born. Dang, I'm getting really old!

Beautiful build and veneer work. Superb looking x-overs too. With your driver changes there's not much K-horn left. As I scrolled down I was surprised to see black lacquered oak veneer, but they look beautiful.

There are two separate Klipschorns restorations in this thread. The first one is mine, the original thread poster, I restored mine staining them a medium brown oak seen in the first series of thumbnail photos. Then as you scroll down you come to a second restoration of member’s RFP who restored his staining them very dark as you mentioned.

Nice Work, I am in the middle of modifying my Horns. I bought them new in 1987. The cabinets are near perfect but the sound has room for lots of improvement. I installed Volti's mid-range horn and B&C DE-120 tweeter driver and a smahl eleptical walnut lens from DaveA on the Klipsch forum. I am currently using a Crites cross-over while I wait on ALK's extreme cross-overs. When I get those I'll buy a set of BMS 4592ND mid drivers. If I have any money left over I might have someone clean and reseal with tung oil.
