Congrats!
Very pleased with mine. Will roll in some new tubes in another week or two. Want to save the McIntosh branded tubes.
So you are saying that basically you will never enjoy the Mcintosh tubes. You will put them back in trying to impress potential buyers out in the future when you sell the unit.Congrats!

I've been more than pleased with a Shunyata Delta NR V2 power cable. Has transformed my digital listening.

I'd hazard a guess that with all the possible combinations of amps and preamps in the world, this one would be in a very small minority... but I'm in that minority myself and love the combo (using WE's also).
As far as cable rec's go, I'd listen to the V for awhile and then decide. Depending on your room (hard or soft/absorbent or reflective) it might alter what the best choice is.
fwiw... I use DH Labs power cables on all my equipment and teflon coated silver for speaker wire and ic's. Silver into 300b = omg.

I’ve spent a full day trying different combinations……with an SUT (Auditorium 23) into the MM, and directly into the C22 moving coil section.
One thing for sure, the C22 is very sensitive to power and interconnect selection.

I agree. I like preamps to be as simple and straight to the point as possible.
I rolled in new GL phono tubes & new JAN Philips for the others (all matched & tested). Noticeably blacker background & better detail. McIntosh label tubes now the backup tubes.
Way too much $$ for me.get some NOS telefunken tubes.

Curious... when you roll the tubes in it, do you put the 'bar above them' back on or leave it off?
IMO, leaving it off is a very good idea.
Yes. No bar for me. I did put the two screws back to hold the cable clamp on the left side (and so I would not loose them).

Very smart... nicely done. I "think" I know where mine are.
I also have the IV and C70 version of this preamp... they don't have that 'clamp' like the V does so I had to improvise.
I would guess no issues, but would also ask the question in the "Tube Audio" forum https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?forums/tube-audio.14/. Some very knowledgeable folks over there that may have more insight into your question.

I plan to call McIntosh and SVS (subwoofer) tomorrow.
Anyone successfully using one of the 2 outputs on the McIntosh C22 Mk V to add a sub?
The SVS subwoofer (SB 2000 PRO) has a 16 ohm input impedance and the McIntosh c22 preamp has a 22 Ohm output impedance. Bad subwoofer selection perhaps?
I'm new to subwoofers, so I'm trying to learn about the sonic benefits of preamp (SVS) versus amp (REL) connections for subwoofers.
I use horn speakers that are lightening fast, so I need a fast subwoofer. Recommendations appreciated.
