Tom, you find the most amazing speakers . . I still tell friends about those refrigerator sized BBC monitors I witnessed . . . WOW . . .
uuuuh . . . lemme know if you need a chaperone Deli![]()
Great story! You're definitely going to have to try these with a Paragon.![]()
We are going to have to leave that to someone else. I don't have a Paragon nor do I have room for a Paragon. I'll be lucky if the wife lets me keep these.
She's already asking where they are going and I don't have a good answer.

awesome acquisition my friend.
Then you get to be my hero.
Magical find. :thmbsp:
I request that you give us the long story(I mean beyond-Arkay long....).
...so you found a pair of used speakers. Big deal...
(got them yet? in what condition are the drivers? how does it...ahmmm...sound?)
I must say that the part that got most of my attention was that the good old guy computerized his music collection 50 years ago. I think that is nothing less than mind blowing :thmbsp:.
On punch cards?
It'd be interesting to know whether any trace of the 'recording' still exists.

If we are talking 1960s then the 'recording' we are talking about I think must be the catalog of the collection, likely in a database of some kind. I get the impression some people thought he had his album collection digitally recorded. While recording bits of music digitally to computer was done as early as late '50s (IIRC) the resources to do a complete LP would have been out of the question I think.
he is still pretty upset about Carl's passing and exhausted from carrying around his wallet.![]()
Still not here and now my wife is mad.:thumbsdn:
She read an email with an offer to buy them in it and now she wants to know what they cost.
I may have reached too far this time.
Show her this thread, maybe that will lend some perspective on how incredible a find this is. Offer to let HER decide on the room (in your house, not a shed) and offer to help design a room around them with these as the focal point. She can point out that they are a classic design and a great "antique" to anyone that mentions them.
