On Average How Often Are You Sick?

Morning news is talking about the flu which made me wonder when the last time I had a cold. Turns out it was in March of 1994 for me.

Colds, stuff like that, once 2X a year. "Chronic" congestion ? Almost daily. Worse in the spring & fall. Stomach troubles ? Chronic, alternates between constipation, or "Mt Vesuvius"-Daily.

Never had the flu & I am truly grateful for that, but do suffer from Chronic Sinusitis due to a deviated septum. Refusing to get the surgery, I have sinus headaches almost daily.

These headaches are truly a bane of unimaginable pain at times.

Cold/flu, about twice a year. Bronchitis, about once a decade.

Other than that, usually never need to go to a doctor except regular checkups.

Ah yes, it's like Groundhog's Day, the movie here, every day is almost exactly like yesterday. That's a factor I did not think of, thanks Jimfet.

Uhh-huh. Same here. About a month-6 weeks ago, we had that GAWDAWFUL zero-degree nonsense for a week, then it warmed up into the fifties.. My late granny always called that "Newmony" Weather, where yr system can't get used to it..

Taxes, commercials, rude people, gridlock traffic, plastic containers you can't open, relatives that visit, audio probs you can't find, a dead battery, that dog that barks too much, another notch on the belt, the wrong way, paying good money for bad movie, plastic bag that breaks, moving...had enough? I had the surgery to fix my deviated septum a little over one year ago. What a difference! I can now breathe through both sides of my nose equally for the first time in my life.

As far as getting sick, once or twice per year seems about right. Sometimes I can go two years. I get the flu shot every year.

The last time I had the flu was maybe six years ago -- the only year I got a flu shot. I rarely get colds -- just fought off something that tried to come on -- and take 1 or 2 sick days a year. I accrue one sick day a month at work and have 237 sick days saved up.

Today is one of those days. Think I caught a cold from my boss who was sick last week.
