On Average How Often Are You Sick?

2 to 4 times? Today and yesterday's one of them, headache Monday night, resulting in not even able to wake up on Tuesday morning, finally woke up at 12 AM... Today was just to fully rest, just doing nothing.

Yea, I've read & heard so many testimonies about the after effects of the surgery where there is a lot of surgical resection. Not sure of that is the type each of you had. Also, I saw a commercial the other day about balloon type surgery where the doctory inserts small pieces & inflates them.

I guess its along the lines of stints or something. Will try to check that out & let me know what type you guys had. I've had several other surgeries & I am just done with that. My kidney surgery was a monsta'! :D

If anyone tells me how good Morphine is, I've got a big ol' knuckle sandwich to share with 'em! :D

Before kids: 0

After kids: Not sure but nearly every time they bring something home.

.....can't remember the last full-fledged flu or even a cold....whenever I feel something might be coming on, a couple of sessions in a steam room makes it go away.....

Funny you should ask.....

I have been very healthy for years but approaching 70 has got me for a lupe.

Last Feb. I was in Chicago for my mother-in-laws funeral and was laid down with a viscious flew like ailment causing me to miss some of the family situations. It was really bad. Up chuck, exploding bowels, sick feeling, and just plain bad. This year I didn't go anywhere. Last Sunday I felt shivery and by Mon. Morning I was a wreck. Very ill and temp of 102.5. I took all types of OTC cold medications and finally got well enough to walk around by Wed. morning. My daughter thinks I have pneumonia and my wife thinks I had a stroke. Both wrong if judging by how I feel today(Wed.).
So that makes 2 times within 2 years that I have had a serious something.
Weird for me. I don't have these types of illnesses, ever.
We get flu shots every year along with the pneumonia shot every few years.

I used to have Sinus headaches all the time, & you AIN'T lyin'... After you've had one for a day or 2, w/no relief in sight, you just almost "Lose" yrself.. If I could ever hurt myself or someone else, it would have been when I was in the death-grip of one of THOSE.

I don't remember the last time I was sick with anything like a cold or the flu. I had a bad sinus infection about 14 years ago that I remember well.

Other than a very long nasty painful bout with Shingles (Damn that ChickenPox Virus!), I have not been sick with a cold or Flu in over 10 years. That Virus can be painful as Hell, believe me.

However, when I've shaken hands with people, touched gas pump handles, or handled money (The Big Three Germ Spreaders), I use Purell. Not sure if that helps entirely, but it's some added insurance.

Does this count my Ol' Pal, "Uncle" Arthur Itis ? Me 'n' Uncle Arthur have been Bosom Buddies since he 1st showed up in my ankle in 1976, after I'd done a number on it, jumping off a 4' high dock w/2 55lb buckets of ink, one in each hand.. Now, he's set up shop in my fingers as well, THEY hurt a lot...

No just colds/flu.

I'll get a cold once, maybe twice a year. It always seems to start on a Thursday tho, so by the time it's Monday I'm pretty much over it. I can't remember the last time I had the flu... maybe 25yrs ago or so? Sick time at work only accrues to 702hrs (90 days). I've been maxed out there for quite a while.

Usually get a cold or two every winter, haven't had one yet. Being a sanitation nazi helps. Mrs. Tox had a bad, week-long cold with a bad cough around New Yrs. We used separate hand towels, she took out her used tissue trash, and I never caught it. Amazing what REAL sterile technique will do. I also take 500 mg vit C every day of the year. I get fewer colds than I did before, and almost never get those bad sinus infections requiring antibiotics that I used to get.

Maybe once a year at the most I may get a cold. Since I've been getting flu shots, I haven't had the flu in ages.
