A few more things to do including staining.
2 pieces of 2' x 4' Birch plywood, Betsy (free) and cheap 12 inch GRS subwoofers with a pair of used (1/2 price) Dayton SPA 250 plate amps, may try other 8 inch wideband drivers.

I'm waiting until my Cornwalls are gone before I really dial them in, but with just some quick adjustments to get the subwoofers to blend I'm pretty happy with them.
They go low enough to be satisfying with the Jazz and Classical that I mostly listen to, the 6 dB @ 30Hz boost provided by the plate amps help here.
I like to use minimal treatments and pull the speakers well away from the wall so the soundstage is wide and deep.

If I end up not liking them enough to be my main speakers look for the open baffle bonfire pictures here this fall.

Open Baffle speakers can be magic :)
 
I heard Orions at RMAF many years ago with a 6 channel ATI? amplifier.
I don't know what may have been the issue, but they just didn't sound very engaging to me.

I don't know anybody who listens to music but my wife. I could be biased but, there have been many brands throughout our home. So far these stand tall

It was just one of he hotel rooms with everything moved out and they were well away from the walls IIRC.

The opposite of sit and listen for hours, they just sounded flat and boring, other speakers (Duke LeJeune's bi-pole Dream Maker was exceptional) there were much more enjoyable to me. I'm not saying they are bad speakers, but the one time I heard them they didn't even merit a, I would like to hear these again, from me.

I will give you a few months.
 
I’ve had them for a few months. I find them exciting. Flat & boring is a definition used to describe a box speaker
 
I have some boring box speakers.
But..... they are Betsy K's . For $150 drivers and two sheets of MDF they sound wonderful with just about everything but full Orchestral music.
